Bike Ride in Portage, WI on

The Bike Ride is designed for cyclists of varied abilities with both leisurely and challenging routes on low-traffic, paved roads. There are four routes with distances of 15, 36, 45, and 62 miles.

Non-biking friends are encouraged to come along and visit the many local Amish shops and the historic Portage area.


The ride starts and ends in Portage, Wisconsin.

• Less than 3 hours from Chicago, Eau Claire, Green Bay,

LaCrosse and Milwaukee

• 40 minutes from Madison

• 20 minutes from Wisconsin Dells


The larger routes will take you in to Green Lake County through some beautiful scenic areas. Cyclists will be immersed in the Amish, beautiful country roads with rolling hills. On routes over 15 miles you will experience the Amish general store, the buggy shop, garden center, horses, buggies, saw mill, numerous one room school houses, and lots of friendly waves from the Amish.


Registration and start time is between 6:30 & 10:00 a.m.

Ride begins at your leisure from Columbia County Fairgrounds

Veteran's Memorial Field. Wauona Trail, Portage WI

Keep in mind that the Ride and SAG support end at 2:30 p.m.

By taking part in our Ride to Read Bike Ride you will help us to continue improving communities one child at a time.

Proceeds from this ride will be used to purchase and distribute children's books.
